1st Annual Kiwanis Christmas Jubilee Recap

Published On: December 16, 2021

It was a festive day in Carefree on Saturday, November 30th.   Over 1,200 gathered, 400 of which were children, in the Carefree Desert Gardens for a Kiwanis Christmas Jubilee.  This was the inaugural event to become one of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree’s signature annual events.

The event started at 11 am and offered free carriage rides, cookie decorating, games, face painting, and a special visit from Santa. The pet parade drew a crowd as the four-legged friends strutted their stuff on the stage. Puppy Luv Animal Rescue brought several of their puppies to be fostered and placed 12 of them in new homes.

The event could not have been as successful without the help of the Scott Foundation, the Boys Scouts, The Desert Foothills Family YMCA, and our local Key Club.

“Our town is so lucky to have a group like the Kiwanis Club of Carefree to put on a community event for us.” a resident of the Town of Cave Creek expressed.

The mini ponies nearly stole the show, but it was the bike giveaway that was the main event.  50 bikes were given away to attending children. You can tell by the smiles on the kids’ faces, it was a successful event.
