Foothills Caring Corps’ Executive Director, Robin Cochran, and Marketing & Development Manager, Bethany Mok, made an excellent presentation on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, to the Kiwanis of Carefree Club on the vast scope of their Community Support Services. Foothills Caring Corps has been serving the communities of Carefree, Cave Creek, North Phoenix, and North Scottsdale, a territory of 256 square miles across eight zip codes, for over 20 years.

Many know of Foothills Caring Corps providing “Mobile Meals” to community members who are aging in place or those in need. In 2021, FCC delivered 24,249 meals to Neighbors! Others may know of the “Mobility Loan Closet,” a free community resource for those who require durable home medical equipment.

They shared about their Individual Services provided by caring volunteers, such as “Friendly Visiting,” some visits with pets to amuse their clients, and opportunities for “Caregiver Relief.” Volunteer drivers also provide “Shopping Assistance” and “Non-Emergency Medical Transportation.” Clients can participate in social and recreational outings via their fleet of eight vans, four of that are handicap accessible. Did you also know that they provide “Basic Technology Help” and “Handyman Services”?

Foothills Caring Corps has also worked with the Cave Creek Unified School District to provide volunteer opportunities for Cactus Shadows High School students and a Pen Pal Program for elementary school students. Most recently, FCC’s “Van Program” visited Lone Mountain Elementary School to watch a patriotic performance of their “American Symbols on Parade” production.

Kiwanis of Carefree has provided financial support to the Foothills Caring Corps for many years and will continue to do so in recognition of their great range of services. Robin Cochran thanked Kiwanis of Carefree very sincerely for our support over the years we have worked together for the community.
