Kiwanis Club of Carefree Unveils Fresh New Welcome Sign on Cave Creek Road

Cave Creek, AZ (December 11, 2025)  For decades, an old, weather-worn sign has greeted drivers as they rolled into Cave Creek, the Kiwanis Club logo perched beside five other longstanding community organizations. Faded by time, bent by an unfortunate run-in with a passing truck, and nearly unreadable, the sign had become a nostalgic landmark… but not exactly a shining example of Kiwanis pride.

That changed last month.

Former Kiwanis president Toby Payne shared that the original sign likely went up in the early 1990s and had been replaced about 15 to 20 years ago. With all those years of sun, storms, and desert wear and tear, it was clear the sign had given Cave Creek all it had to give.

Thanks to the help of the Town of Cave Creek’s crew, a brand-new Kiwanis road sign was installed, a bright, bold, and ready to welcome every driver entering town. The refreshed sign reflects not only the Club’s continued commitment to serving the community but also the vibrant spirit Kiwanis brings to Cave Creek and Carefree through countless volunteer projects and youth programs.

“We’re thrilled to have a sign that truly represents who we are,” said Bob Moore, Kiwanis Club of Carefree Communications Committee Co-Chair. “We hope the next time residents or visitors pass by, they’ll be reminded of the positive impact Kiwanis members make throughout our local communities, and maybe even feel inspired to get involved.”
