Kiwanis Breakfast Big “Flipping” Success!
The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast held last Saturday, March 11th, at the Sanderson Pavilion in Carefree was a spectacular success!
More than 650 people enjoyed all-you-can-eat pancakes with blueberry sauce, sausages, coffee, and orange juice, served by dozens of Kiwanis members and
volunteers. The line of hungry diners started at 7am when the doors opened, and continued non-stop until 11am when the griddles were finally turned off.
The Pancake Breakfast team has been planning this event for several months, and on Friday, the team started with the setup of tables, and then they came
in at 5am Saturday morning to complete all the food preparation and equipment setup.
The Event included live radio coverage by Vince D’Aliesio of Varsity Radio with interviews of Sandra Carrier, Kiwanis Executive Director and John Crane, Mayor of Carefree. We also had music from the Desert Hills School of Music, and support from the Cactus Shadows High School football team, as well as the Kiwanis Key Club and other volunteers who did the cleaning of the tables all morning.
Kiwanis thanks to all who came, and we hope no one went away hungry!
