Carefree Christian Academy Thanks Kiwanis Carefree
At the June 1st Kiwanis Lunch Meeting, Schools and Education Chair, Tom Leard, introduced Carefree Christian Academy Principal, Selene Nelson, who thanked the generous members of Kiwanis for donating $20,000 (total) toward their History and Science field trips ($1,500) and our Kiwanis Science Lab! ($18,500)
She also thanked us for sponsoring multiple History and Science field trips to Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, Organ Stop Pizza, Phoenix Police Museum, and OdySea Aquarium. Students participated in a variety of learning activities including honoring our veterans, military, police, and first responders. They also learned the history of the famous Phoenix Miranda case.
CCA students and their science teacher are extremely grateful for the donation to build their Kiwanis Science Lab! CCA is thrilled to bring the best science teaching and equipment to students, specifically in areas of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics thanks to the generosity of Cave Creek Kiwanis!
Student Dakota Surratt shared a student’s perspective that their learning was greatly enhanced by the field trips. She shared that many students “teared up” when viewing the memorials at Wesley Bolin Plaza to our veterans.
