Carefree Kiwanis

SCHOLARSHIP
AND
MERIT AWARDS

These financial opportunities are available to high school seniors living in or attending school in the Cave Creek Unified School District, including home schooled students

•Since 1986, more than $1,232,000 in scholarships awarded.

• This year, Kiwanis will award a total of $100,000 in 4-year, 2-year, and merit scholarships!

Available Awards:

These financial opportunities are available to high school seniors living in or attending school in the Cave Creek Unified School District, including home schooled students.

In 2017 Carefree Kiwanis will offer the following scholarship or merit award opportunities: 

 • FOUR- Scully 4 Year Scholarships for $2,500 per semester up to eight semesters (total $20,000 each) 

 • Two – 2 year Community College or Vocation Scholarships for $1,500 per semester up to four semesters (total $6,000 each). 

 • One one-time Math Merit Award of 2,000. 

 • One one-time Science Merit Award of $2,000 

 • One one-time Bruce Hilsee Scholarship of $2,500 for International Relations 

 •   One one-time Key Club Community Service Award (Open to Kiwanis Key Club Members only) of $2,000

One time Trade/Vocational School Award of $2,000.

All materials must be received by Kiwanis on or before April 4, 2017.

Semi-finalist will be interviewed on April 29, 2017.


The Scully Four Year College Scholarship (Number of scholarships - 4)

  • $2,500/semester, contingent upon meeting standards

  • Better than average academic achievement (3.0 or better)

  • Financial need considered

This award is based entirely on your participation in Key Club regarding membership, leadership, Key Club/Kiwanis Service to Community, and attendance at Key Club Conventions and Weekends of a Lifetime.  A Key Club advisor must complete the point sheet in the application 2 letters of recommendation must be included.

This vocational/technical scholarship is for careers that require practical training in a specialized field and that might require an associate degree but not a bachelor’s degree. Examples of the types of programs that this scholarship is intended to support are: auto mechanics, drafting, TV technician, cosmetology, culinary arts, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding, aviation mechanics, nursing, and medical technician.

Please complete all questions and provide all the materials requested. The application must be signed and datedand received by the Kiwanis Club of Carefree no later than April 4, 2017.
