2017 Kiwanis Art Enrichment Internship

This scholarship has been created to encourage student attending an alternative school.


•   Applicant must be a legal resident of Arizona.

•   Applicant will be expected, upon completion of their art course, to give a short talk about their experiences in the class to the Kiwanis Club of Carefree.

•   Students interested in applying for a scholarship must complete the Student Application enclosed, and submit a completed Parental Permission Form and completed Teacher Recommendation Form.


• To apply for an internship three forms, on the following pages, must be submitted: Student Application, Parental Permission Form and Teacher Recommendation Form.


The student and the parents signing these forms are responsible for the student completing all classes. Please do not apply if you are uncertain you will be able to attend each day of your the development of outstanding freshmen, sophomores and juniors from the Desert Foothills area who excel in the visual arts field. Funding for the program has been provided through the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree.

Six students will be selected to take the course of their choice at the nationally renowned Scottsdale Artists School located in downtown Scottsdale. Information about the School can be found on their website: . The scholarships must be used during June or July of 2017. The winners will be recognized at the “Celebration of the Arts Ceremony” at Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center in May. The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the Scottsdale Artists School to cover tuition costs.


Applicant must be a freshman, sophomore or junior in a CCUSD high school, a local home schooled student or a local charter school student. You are expected to attend all four sessions of your course.

Applications must be received no later than 3:00pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
